The Master of Science in Information Systems–Bridge program is designed to prepare those with non-STEM or nontechnical bachelor’s degrees, or those who want to strengthen their technical backgrounds, to enter the information systems field. Integrating business management, software engineering, and information technology, the program prepares students to design innovative software solutions that fit the complexities of the business world while solving the humanistic needs of the people who use them.

The Master of Science (MS) in Information Systems—Bridge program enables students with non-STEM or nontechnical bachelor’s degrees, and students who would like to strengthen their technical backgrounds, to launch a career in information systems and contribute to the ongoing digital revolution. The comprehensive curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and provides a personalized learning experience tailored to your individual needs. Upon completion of the program, you’ll earn an MS in Information Systems and be well prepared to pursue a career as an information systems professional.

The MS in Information Systems—Bridge program aims to connect business users and technologists as industries increasingly digitize their operations. The program responds to the growing demand for professionals who possess a deep understanding of how technology can be harnessed to address significant societal challenges. Through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates business management, software engineering, and information technology, the program empowers you to tackle complex real-world issues in the realms of business and society.

Diverse experiential opportunities

Northeastern University combines rigorous academics with experiential learning and research to prepare students for real-world engineering challenges. The cooperative education program, also known as co-op, is one of the largest and most innovative in the world, and Northeastern is one of only a few universities that offers a co-op program for graduate students. Students gain up to eight months of professional experience employed in their field of interest as part of the academic curriculum, giving them a competitive edge upon graduation.

The College of Engineering has 2,000+ co-op employer partners globally. Our dedicated team of co-op coordinators prepare students for the co-op experience through resume building, developing interview skills, and guiding professional development. Recent co-op partners for the MSIS program include Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Tesla, and Apple, as well as large corporations to startups globally.

Applications received after the stated deadline dates will be accepted and processed as quickly as possible; however it may not be possible to have a decision rendered in time for the applicant to begin taking classes for the desired term if admitted.
