The Master of Science in Bioinformatics is structured to provide students with the skills and knowledge to develop, evaluate, and deploy bioinformatics and computational biology applications. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for employment in the biotechnology sector, where the need for knowledgeable life scientists with quantitative and computational skills has exploded in the past decade.

The following concentrations are available on our Miami campus:
- Bioinformatics Enterprise: This concentration integrates business and management skills with the science of bioinformatics.
- Biotechnology: This option provides students without a biotechnology background with a strong foundation in basic biotech concepts and skills.
- Omics: This concentration prepares students to analyze large data sets related to genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and evolving newomics fields.
- Coursework Option: Students are not required to declare a concentration. With the coursework option, students select 12 credits of electives in place of concentration-specific courses.

Program Objectives
The Master of Science in Bioinformatics consists of core coursework in computational methods, programming, and statistics, enhanced by electives in molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular modeling, web development, database design and management, data mining, and other related topics.
